The Neurochemistry and Neurophysics Laboratory (NCPL) was established in early 2018 within the NPARC (Üsküdar University), with respect to the thematic vision of our university in neuroscience.At NCPL, we approach neurochemical and neurophysical functions in sleep-related neural systems from various perspectives, using in vivo, in vitro, and in silico methods. Understanding neurochemical balance in the brain from the micro to the macro level—that is, understanding the chemical structure and biophysical function of the brain, from intracellular molecular pathways and molecular systems that give rise to neural function at the single cell level, to the neurotransmitters that enable communication between neurons and the systems these neurotransmitters create in the brain—formulates the core vision of NCPL. More specifically, the laboratory focuses on neurochemical and neurophysical mapping of regions and subsystems prominent in neurodevelopmental disorders and sleep-related systems.
